LEGAL
Terms & Conditions
Last updated: April 2025
1. About these terms
These Terms and Conditions govern the use of Tableside's facilitated conversation services, including all session formats offered through our studio at Lot 22, Jalan Telawi 3, Bangsar Baru, 59100 Kuala Lumpur. By booking a session or submitting an enquiry, you agree to these terms.
Tableside is not a regulated professional service. Our facilitated conversation sessions are educational and informational in nature. Nothing in any session or written material constitutes legal, psychological, financial, or medical advice.
2. Session formats and scope
Tableside offers three formats: the Couples Conversation Session, the Blended Family Conversation Block, and the Year of Family Conversations subscription. Each format is described in detail on our website and is governed by these terms.
Tableside facilitators are not therapists, counsellors, mediators, or legal practitioners. Their role is limited to facilitating structured conversation using prompts drawn from community facilitation practice. They do not diagnose, advise, represent, or make decisions on behalf of participants.
If, during a session, the facilitator determines that a participant's needs fall outside the scope of educational facilitation, they will say so clearly and may recommend the participant seek appropriate professional support.
3. Booking and payment
A session booking is confirmed upon receipt of full payment. We accept bank transfer and major cards. Booking details and payment instructions will be provided in our booking confirmation email.
Pricing for each session format is as published on our website at the time of booking. Prices are inclusive of all materials listed for that format.
For multi-session formats, a payment schedule may be discussed at the time of booking. Please contact us at [email protected] if you wish to discuss payment timing.
4. Rescheduling and cancellation
Rescheduling: You may reschedule a session at no additional charge with at least 48 hours' notice before the scheduled session time. Rescheduling requests must be sent to us by email or phone.
Late notice: Rescheduling requests received with less than 48 hours' notice may incur a rescheduling fee of up to 25% of the session fee. We will notify you of any fee before confirming the new date.
Cancellation: Cancellations made more than seven days before the session date will receive a refund of the session fee, less a booking administration fee of RM 50. Cancellations made within seven days of the session are not eligible for a refund, but the session may be rescheduled subject to the above conditions.
Tableside-initiated cancellations: In the rare event that we need to cancel a session, we will offer you a full refund or an alternative date at no additional charge.
5. Participant responsibilities
By attending a Tableside session, participants agree to:
- Complete the pre-session intake questionnaire honestly and to the best of their ability.
- Arrive at the studio on time, or notify us in advance if they will be late.
- Engage with the session in good faith, within the structure set by the facilitator.
- Treat all other participants and the facilitator with respect throughout the session.
- Not record any part of the session by audio, video, or other means without the written consent of all participants and Tableside.
Any participant may pause or close a session at any time. The facilitator may also pause or close a session if they consider it necessary for the wellbeing of any participant.
6. Year of Family Conversations subscription
The Year of Family Conversations is a twelve-month subscription. The subscription period begins on the date of the orientation meeting and runs for twelve calendar months.
Up to six facilitated family meetings may be scheduled during the subscription period. Unused sessions do not carry over beyond the subscription period and are not refundable.
Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time. If cancelled before six facilitated meetings have taken place, a partial refund will be calculated based on the sessions used and the per-session equivalent fee, less an administration fee of RM 150. If six or more sessions have been used, no refund applies.
7. Limitation of liability
Tableside's services are educational and facilitative in nature. We make no representation and provide no assurance that participation in any session will result in any particular personal, relational, or practical outcome.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Tableside's liability to any participant arising from or in connection with any session is limited to the amount paid by that participant for the relevant session or format.
We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss arising from participation in our sessions or use of our materials.
8. Intellectual property
The prompt card sets, workbooks, written summaries, and other materials provided by Tableside as part of a session format are the intellectual property of Tableside. They are provided for personal, non-commercial use by session participants only and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used commercially without written permission.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Tableside's services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
